Hear music from the 2017 season of the Ecstatic Music Festival, recorded live at Merkin Hall in January for the New Sounds Live concert series in what was a mighty gathering of chamber and chamber-pop players onstage of both the New York outfit NOW Ensemble and the band San Fermin. San Fermin is an eight-piece band led by the classically-trained Ellis Ludwig-Leone. Hear music by Ludwig-Leone for NOW Ensemble, along with a work by guitarist/composer Mark Dancigers for San Fermin and his own band, the NOW Ensemble. Plus, the two ensembles joined forces for orchestrations of San Fermin’s songs in different combinations. Hear the elegance of chamber music and the immediacy of pop music together from this concert event.
