Alash

Soundcheck | May 3, 2010
Tuva is a tiny Republic that sits at the southern edge of Siberia and, through history, has been part of Mongolia, China and now the Russian Federation. The Tuvan people are famous for their unique throat singing, but these days they are mixing it with foreign elements. The ensemble Alash joins us for a live performance of traditional Tuvan music, mixed with Western sounds.

Alash will perform twice tonight at Barbès in Brooklyn, once at 8 and once at 10.
