Survival Kit | May 6, 2010
Carl Reiner has written, directed, produced and starred in some of the funniest TV shows and movies of the past half century, including The Dick Van Dyke Show, Your Show of Shows, The Jerk, Where’s Poppa?, Dead Men Don’t Wear Plaid, and Oh, God. He’s performed standup in the Borsch Belt, toured in Broadway shows, entertained the troops overseas, written novels and plays. Let’s find out what this multifaceted comic would need to keep him occupied during a long retreat, by taking a peek in his survival kit.
His list:
1. complete set of Estelle Reiner's CD's
2. complete works of Mark Twain
3. down pillows
4. stimudents
5. crossword puzzles
6. videos of great "commupance" movies- Shawshank Redemption, The Count of Monte Cristo, Holes
7. portable typewriter, reams of paper, yellow pads and lots of Uniball pens
8. One of his movies, "The Man With Two Brains," which didn't do well critically or at the box office, but he loves. Actually he would bring all of his movies, so he could watch them and see if he could make them better...
