Listen to a work made with violin, voice, and electronics by composer, multi-instrumentalist, and interdisciplinary artist Darian Donovan Thomas whose music takes an intersectional approach to genres. Then, hear the work of playful plant electricity manipulator, the composer Angélica Negrón. She is also part of the ‘Dreambow’ band Balún, a Brooklyn-based via San Juan collective who embrace punk and bedroom pop while electrifying cookware as percussion. Darian Donovan Thomas also performs with Balún.

The quartet So Percussion is made of instrument builders/finders who beat, shake, bow all kinds of things from hardware stores to timpani; they also compose. Listen as they perform music by the late composer, accordionist, sound experimenter, and all-around musical pioneer Pauline Oliveros, as well as a collaborative work with Darian Donovan Thomas and Angélica Negrón, recorded and filmed at Brookfield Place.
