Caramoor Festival Highlights
Evening Music | May 6, 2010
Once again, the Caramoor Festival’s Michael Barrett joins Margaret Juntwait. Highlights are from the Amelia Trios appearance there last season; also, a glance at the coming summer’s programming.
This evening we’ll hear the Amelia Trio playing last summer’s world premiere of a new piece by John Harbison, commissioned for them by the Caramoor Festival. The Orchestra of St. Lukes, which opens the 2005 Caramoor season with an all-Beethoven program, plays Twelve Contredances for Orchestra this evening. Hélène Grimaud displays her penchant for Ravel in his Piano Concerto in G, Jesus Lopez-Cobos conducting the Royal Philharmonic.
