Mirian Conti

Evening Music | May 6, 2010
Mirian Conti, the brilliant Argentinian pianist often compared to Alicia de Larrocha, can be heard at Merkin Hall on Sunday, 11/13, but also here this evening. You don’t want to miss her!

In our 10:00pm hour, Mirian and the Chelsea Chamber Ensemble will play Samuel Zyman’s Concerto for Piano and Chamber Ensemble. The work was written for and dedicated to Mirian, and displays both the composer’s inventive ingenuity and the pianist’s incredible technical facility and interpretive genius.

Also at the Merkin Concert Hall, but on November 8th, will be composer Arnold Rosner, celebrating his 60th birthday. Arnold was a music programmer here at WNYC many years ago, and we liked his music then (without prejudice), and still do. Flutist Nahum Zaidel joins the Jerusalem Symphony under David Amos in Rosner’s “A Gentle Musicke” during our 9:00pm hour.

Throughout the evening, the spotlight will be on Triangulo, so stay tuned.
