Listen to “Starry Night” from The Sea Ranch Songs by Serbian-born composer Aleksandra Vrebalov, commissioned and played by Kronos Quartet. The Sea Ranch is a 10-mile stretch of coastal community in Sonoma County, California, known for its architecture and land-planning designed for humans and nature to live as one. Then, hear “Night Music,” for prepared piano by New York composer/keyboard wizard Kelly Moran.
There’s also music for cello and voice by Uzbek composer Dmitri Yanov-Yanovsky, from a recording by the Louth Contemporary Music Society, called “Night Music: Voice in the Leaves.” Plus, listen to trumpet with electronics from CARM (aka CJ Camerieri of yMusic), harp music by Mary Lattimore, and work with piano from Rachel Grimes (of Rachel’s.) - Caryn Havlik
