#4575, Winter Tales and Seasonal Songs
Hear seasonal music from Hebrides Islands off of Scotland, music from South Africa, and songs from The Bahamas, Jordan, and Hungary.
From a recent collection, Winter Tales, listen to cellist and composer Peter Gregson’s adaptation of a carol traditionally sung by the islanders of the remote Outer Hebrides on Christmas Eve. There’s also a Polish traditional carol, arranged by pianist Hania Rani and cellist Dobrawa Czocher from the same album. Hear traditional Christmas music, as arranged for Arabic oud, and music by Hungarian folk vocalist Marta Sebestyen.
Listen to music from the bell-ringers and singers performing winter carols in Slovenia, along with Breton choir Du Bout Du Monde doing a traditional carol called “Nedeleg,” from a global Christmas collection.
