Hear music by  Northern Irish composer and producer Hannah Peel in collaboration with Bristol’s  Paraorchestra from a new record, The Unfolding. Paraorchestra mixes up analogue, digital and assistive instruments with a unique ensemble of disabled and non-disabled musicians, with an ethereal blend of voices and melodic lines, enhanced by processing.

Then, listen to music in varying gorgeous and otherworldly textures (Bandcamp) by composer, guitarist, improviser, and collaborator Jeff Parker for Chicago’s Ensemble Dal Niente for Korg synthesizers and chamber instruments. It’s from their recent record, object/animal. Also, hear Marc Mellits’ “5 Machines," written for the Bang on a Can All-Stars, with impressive and complicated cross-rhythms and syncopated hooky lines, carried by cello, marimba, piano, bass clarinet, double-bass, and guitar, all amplified. 

Plus, there’s music by the Irish new music band, Crash Ensemble, who, much like the Bang on a Can All-Stars, are world-class musicians who play newly-composed works wielding orchestral instruments, as well as amplified instruments. And more. - Caryn Havlik
