Moondog Madrigals

Evening Music | May 6, 2010
We feature selections from Hardin's "Moondog Madrigals," a series of short four-part rounds arranged alphabetically by title, written in 1968. The madrigals are scored for voice and baroque instruments and are challengingly original; Janis Joplin performed a cover of a selection from the larger work (if this piques your interest, check out the Moondog Rising Festival in New York from November 2-3).
