Wingdale Community Singers: In Studio

Plenty of bands can be described as “literary,” but the Wingdale Community Singers actually have a real live novelist among their numbers.

The band’s lyricist is Rick Moody, author of The Ice Storm and Purple America. Rounding out the lineup are avant-rocker David Grubbs, experimental folkster Hannah Marcus, and multi-instrumentalist Nina Katchadourian. The Brooklyn supergroup joins us to perform a set of harmony-heavy American folk.
