No Direction Home

The Leonard Lopate Show | May 10, 2010
Bob Dylan is the subject of a new documentary directed by Martin Scorsese called “No Direction Home.” For over 40 years, Bob Dylan has been reinventing himself, and in the process, reinvigorating popular music. Rock critics Greil Marcus and Dave Marsh join us for a look at his music. Greil Marcus is the author of Like a Rolling Stone: Bob Dylan at the Crossroads and The Old, Weird America: The World of Bob Dylan's Basement Tapes. Dave Marsh has written over a dozen books about rock and popular music. He cofounded the Detroit rock and roll magazine Creem, and served as an associate and contributing editor for Rolling Stone for five years. He also edited the first two editions of The Rolling Stone Record Guide.
