They Might Be Giants Live

Spinning on Air | May 18, 2010
They Might Be Giants perform in the WNYC studio! This two-man band has been making their very own kind of surreal, insightful, exciting, tuneful songs for 20 years. John Flansburgh and John Linnell bring their guitar and accordion and their great big book of songs to Spinning On Air. They'll attempt the first-ever acoustic version of their collage-song "Fingertips;" discuss "Gigantic," the new film documentary about their career; comment on the "importantly inexplicable" aspects of their songs; and sing some more. Host David Garland says Spinning On Air concentrates on the meeting point of art and pop, and that's They Might Be Giants' home turf.
