Sing Theory

Spinning on Air | May 18, 2010

Spinning On Air host David Garland has curated 22 concerts at The Stone during the last weeks of 2009. The concert series features musicians who subtly, insistingly, and creatively expand the potential of song. By investing songs with both heart and brain, and by tapping into the alchemy of the understandable and the mysterious, these daring songwriters prove that the ancient combination of words and music can still yield surprises, open new vistas, and permit and promote profound communication. On this show Garland presents music by some of the participating musicians (many of whom have performed on Spinning On Air) including Diane Cluck, Larkin Grimm, tUnE-YaRdS, Danielson, DM Stith, Karen Mantler, Dave Deporis, Ed Askew, Grey Reverend, Extra Life, and others.

The Stone is located at the corner of Avenue C and 2nd Street, Manhattan, New York City. More information on the series (Dec. 16-29) and performers at The Stone. Proceeds benefit the performers. David Garland will perform on December 17th and 25th.
