#2152: Program #2152

New Sounds | May 24, 2010
On this episode of New Sounds, we sample electric violin music by Daniel Bernard Roumain. Roumain was recently named the assistant composer-in-residence at the Orchesta of St. Luke's, and is also music director of the Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company. His boundary-blurring works fuse classical and hip-hop idioms and styles. Continuing with the electrified string theme, we showcase electric cello works by Joby Talbot, Evan Ziporyn, and Michael Gordon.
