Its broad range of uses and remarkable adaptability has made it a favorite of composers and performers the world over. On this edition of New Sounds, we hear music for zithers from Michael Atherton, Shivkumar Sharma, Laraaji, Mecca Bodega, and Stephan Micus, among others.
