#2102: Program #2102

New Sounds | May 24, 2010
Unusual "chamber" ensembles are featured on this edition of New Sounds. We hear the San Francisco-based Tin Hat Trio in selections from their recent CD, Rodeo Eroded, which blends tango, bluegrass, contemporary classical, and Eastern European folk traditions. Selections include a woozy take on "Willow Weep for Me," as well as "Bill," a bluesy, waltz-like slow jam. We also hear from the trio's brilliant accordionist, Rob Burger, in a few exotic cuts from his new solo CD Lost Photograph. And of course, any program of unusual chamber works ought to include a visit with John Zorn, which we'll get in "Tranze Dance."
