#2104: Sap Dream Scavengers

New Sounds | May 24, 2010
The Sap Dream Guitar Quartet (Bryce Dessner, David Nadal, Van Stiefel, and Rami Vamos) is made up of guitarist-composer-arrangers who scavenge a variety of techniques, musical styles, and sounds to arrive at a new form of electric guitar chamber music. Classically trained but eclectically bent, the quartet has made it its mission to embrace both the obvious and not-so-obvious sonic possibilities of the electric guitar. They're featured here in a live New York Guitar Festival performance at Joe’s Pub, with works by Scott Johnson, Alan Licht, and others.
