Bloomberg Calls Shooting Senesless

"A senseless act." That's what Mayor Bloomberg called last week's killing in Queens of a 13-year-old boy by a stray bullet, fired by another teenage boy. Bloomberg visited the Cambria Heights neighborhood where Kevin Miller died. He defended the NYPD's work in the area, saying major crimes have continued to drop in Southeast Queens and throughout the city.

BLOOMBERG: We're just never going to have money to put cop on every block all the time.

HOST: He says grief counselors were at Miller's high school today. The councilman who represents Cambria Heights, Leroy Comrie, has said there's not enough police presence there. A 16-year-old boy has been charged in Miller's death.
