Brooklyn DA Honors Manhattan DA Morgenthau

Eighty nine year old Manhattan District Attorney Robert Morgenthau is expected to announce he will not seek re-election this year, after serving for more than three decades in the post.

His longevity and reputation as D.A. has been lauded by many including fellow District Attorney in Brooklyn, Charles Hynes.

HYNES: He's been a great friend and colleague, he has lifted up the reputation of district attorneys not just here in New York City or the state but across the country. He is a remarkable public servant.

REPORTER: Before running as District Attorney in 1974, Morgenthau served as U.S. Attorney in Manhattan, having been appointed by President Kennedy and fired by President Nixon.
