Several TV shows were in reruns last night due to a national writers strike. Members of the Writers Guild of America want more revenue from the digital distribution of films and TV shows.

REPORTER: About 40 writers and their supporters picketed outside NBC's Rockefeller Center yesterday, including actor John Leguizamo.

LEGUIZAMO: All they're asking for is a taste of the huge DVD sales, a little taste of the Internet, just so they can have a long artistic career. You should be able to make money off the things you've created and live off of that. I don't see why that's unfair.

REPORTER: Producers say writers aren't willing to compromise on major issues. The last writers' strike - in 1988 - lasted 5 months.
