Noose Discovered in Hempstead Police HQ

WNYC News | Jul 12, 2010

The US Department of Justice and the Nassau County District Attorney have created a joint task force to investigate a hangman's noose found in the Hempstead Police Department locker room.

It was found hanging from a ceiling pipe last Friday. Willie Dixon, a deputy chief, said the noose appeared to have been directed at him. Neither the DA nor the Justice Department provided further details of the investigation. Neither agency confirmed Dixon's assertion that the noose was directed at him.
