Menendez Looks to Protect Soldiers

WNYC News | Jul 12, 2010

New Jersey Senator Robert Menendez wants to create a program in which special case workers would make sure soldiers don't fall through the cracks before they enter the Veterans Affairs system.

Menendez plans to introduce legislation today to create a pilot program with $25 million in grants over the next 5 years. The case workers would focus specifically on new veterans who are members of the National Guard, women or suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder.
