Listen carefully and you might just hear a certain billionaire mayor in there, playing the congas at a restaurant in East Harlem earlier today. Mayor Bloomberg spent a couple minutes on the drums, backed ably by a real, live band. The photo op was for a local tourism initiative, promoting various ethnic neighborhoods.

BLOOMBERG:I can't wait to see the music critics reviews of my bongo playing.

WOMAN: Conga!

BLOOMBERG: Conga. Conga. Conga.

The tourism initiative is known as Nine in '09, and will include a $400,000 marketing campaign, meant to increase local tourism in neighborhoods like Brighton Beach, Jackson Heights, Astoria and El Barrio, in Harlem.
