Ian Bostridge

Soundcheck | Jul 30, 2010

Ian Bostridge never set out to be a globe-trotting tenor. He studied philosophy at Oxford and wrote his Ph.D. dissertation on witchcraft. Yet within five years of graduation, he was singing in London's major concert halls and releasing his first solo album.

The eleven-time Grammy nominee gives recitals around the globe and continues to nurture his literary interests, working as a music columnist for Standpoint magazine and preparing a book of his writings on music to be published in fall 2010. He plays in studio. This is a repeat edition of Soundcheck.
