Commissioner of Markets, Samuel Kearing, announces that 6 markets that had previously been run by the City would be transferred over to private control. Essex St. is the first market to undertake the transfer. The representative of the Essex St. market speaks briefly.

Commissioner Charles Moerdler releases a pamphlet in English and Spanish, entitled "You and Your Landlord." The goal is to outline the rights and responsibilities of landlords and tenants.

Kearing answers questions regarding control of the markets to be privatized. Lindsay answers questions about cleaning up Times Square, among other topics.
