My Favourite Things has the kind of sound that could rush into your dreams and send you off into one of those ‘happy place’ nostalgia-filled montages you see in films--but one that you’re actually excited about. The Brooklyn quintet creates an organic sprawling sound structured within rich precision and detail. What's more, the band features a hotbed of NY talent. Singer, multi-instrumentalist Dorothea Tachler (formerly of Igloo and Mice Parade) with Daru Oda on keys/vocals (formerly in Norah Jones' band), Michael Figgiani on bass/vocals (Exeter Popes), singer/songwriter Alastair Ottesen on guitar/vocals with Jeffrey Ryan on drums. On this track, “Summer of ‘91,” Tachler breathes life back into meadows and bicycles from summers past via a whispering lullaby.
