Crocodiles released its second LP on September 14. On the album's title track, “Sleep Forever,” the San Diego duo Brandon Welchez (vocals, programming), and Charles Rowland (guitar, keys, percussion), deliver a fuzzy rock anthem which triggers a polar opposite reaction to what the title may suggest. Under a noise-rock façade, tambourines, harmonic vocals and layered, rather inspired lyrics, creep in: “The sky sometimes may be so unkind." Then, Rowland's driving guitar and synthesized bits pull you out of a potential death roll and into something that’s brilliant and blue where it's “spring forever.” Crocodiles performs live tonight as a five-piece, along with drummer Alianna Kalaba, bassist Marco Gonzalez and keyboardist Robin Eisenberg.
