Jon Auer and Ken Stringfellow hit the Seattle pre-grunge rock-pop scene in the late '80s. Auer and Stringfellow wrote songs as an acoustic duo at the University of Washington, and have individually compiled an extensive cannon of work beyond the three decade arc of The Posies (most notably revamping the Big Star lineup in the '90s). The track "License to Hide" is from the group's forthcoming full-length album, Blood/Candy, and features Lisa Lobsinger of Broken Social Scene on vocals. But wait, the guest list doesn’t end there. Recorded and mixed in Spain and Seattle, the album includes vocal contributions from UK punk legend and ex-Stranglers frontman Hugh Cornwell on the opening track, “Plastic Paperbacks,” and from Paco Loco of Australian Blonde on “Enewetak.” The album is the band's seventh studio recording and is set to release on September 28.
