By way of Tacoma, Washington, 19-year-old Brad Oberhofer packed up shop and moved out east to Brooklyn to write, play and record his crafty, catchy bedroom pop music. And that’s not a typo. Oberhofer is just 19 years old. He lets backhanded wit fly with lyrics like “You wish you could account for every inch and every ounce of everything that’s unique…And you’ll die by the time you’re thirty.” On the track “OOooOOooOO” these lyrics are drenched in handclaps, plenty of ooohs and aaahs with a kazoo crescendo bobbing atop a tidal wave of echoing bliss-pop. In the overloaded world of Do It Yourself’ers, Oberhofer isn’t one to loose sight of as he continues to hone his craft into his twenties. (Yep. At time of publication, he is still 19.)
