Afro Dominicano at Lincoln Center's David Rubenstein Atrium
Feb. 17. 7:30PM. FREE

The band called Afro Dominicano mixes Afro-Caribbean beats, especially from the Dominican Republic, with the sounds of rock, funk, reggae and more.  In this New York group, accordion riffs and merengue rhythms rub elbows with electric guitar solos and rubbery bass lines, and their bilingual singing can range from the romantic to the slightly raunchy. With a new album on the way, Afro Dominicano is taking part in Lincoln Center’s free ¡VAYA! Series, which showcases Latin music and dance here in the city. They play on Feb. 17, at Lincoln Center’s David Rubinstein Atrium.
