After Fatal Shooting Of 1-Year-Old In Bed Stuy, Community Leaders Say 'Enough'

WNYC News | Jul 13, 2020

The leaders of several "cure violence" organizations came to the scene of the shooting in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn to say "enough." Erica Ford leads Life Camp in Queens.

"You ain't no gansta your're a punk. You're a punk... with a gun that you think is gonna make you a man," Ford said.

Ford and others doing on-the-ground anti-violence work said community members need to speak up about who is doing the shooting; that everyone has a role to play in ridding neighborhoods of this violence. Especially after Davell Gardner Junior was shot in his stroller, on the sidewalk, during a family barbecue.
