'Dana H.' on Broadway, A New Cookbook from Pati Jinich, Get Lit with Lauren Groff and The Staves

All Of It with Alison Stewart | Nov 1, 2021

"Dana H." is a one woman play chronicling the story about Dana Higgenbotham, a hospice chaplain that is taken hostage by a patient and based on the true story of the playwright’s mother. Star Deirdre O’Connell joins to talk about the play that New York Magazine calls “unmissable.”

Pati Jinich, chef and host of the James Beard Award-winning PBS show, “Pati’s Mexican Table,” shares her favorite dishes for Día de los Muertos and recipes from her upcoming cookbook, Treasures of the Mexican Table: Classic Recipes, Local Secrets. Plus, she takes listener calls to answer their culinary-related questions.

We air highlights from our interview with acclaimed author Lauren Groff as part of our October "Get Lit with All Of It" virtual book club event. We spent the month reading her book 'Matrix', which tells the story of Marie de France, a 12th century nun who is expelled from the court of Eleanor of Aquitaine, only to find power as the prioress of a failing abbey.

We air highlights from our conversation with Jessica and Camilla Staveley-Taylor, sisters and members of the band, The Staves, as part of our October "Get Lit with All Of It" virtual book club event. Earlier this year they released the album, Good Woman. Plus, two special performances.
