Missouri Congresswoman Cori Bush tells the story of how her experiences with homelessness, and with sexual and domestic violence, led her to a life of activism, and eventually politics. Bush joins us to discuss her new memoir, The Forerunner: A Story of Pain and Perseverance in America.

Actor and activist Geena Davis has made a career out of playing strong women on screen, and advocating for women in all aspects of Hollywood. In her new memoir, Dying of Politeness, Davis recounts how she decided to become an actor, her career in the movies, and her fight for gender parity. Davis joins us to discuss.

But when she gets there, she finds herself shocked by the working conditions, racism and misogyny, and rampant corporate misconduct. Beaton recounts this time in her life in her new graphic memoir, Ducks: Two Years in the Oil Sands.
