Sam Roberts on Forgotten New Yorkers, Dani Shapiro's New Novel, 'House of Dragon' Finale, 'Wine in the Wilderness' in Red Bank

Long time New York Times journalist and NY1 host Sam Roberts joins to talk about his latest book, The New Yorkers: 31 Remarkable People, 400 Years, and the Untold Biography of the World’s Greatest City, which tells the story of thirty one incredible New Yorkers that have been forgotten by history.

Author Dani Shapiro started work on her book, Signal Fires, years ago, and then stopped, putting the manuscript away. Decades later, she returned to that original story and finished it, publishing her first fiction writing in fifteen years. Signal Fires tells the story of a group of teenagers whose lives change forever after a drunk driving accident. Shapiro joins us to discuss.

The new HBO series "House of the Dragon," a "Game of Thrones" prequel series, aired the season finale last night. This series focuses on the in-fighting between two branches of the Targaryen family, as Westeros grapples with whether a woman can rule. Jeremy Egner, television editor for the New York Times, joins us to discuss whether "House of the Dragon" lived up to the anticipation and take calls from listeners.

Actor Crystal Dickinson and director Brandon J. Dirden join us to discuss their upcoming production of the Alice Childress play, "Wine in the Wilderness," at Two River Theater in Red Bank, New Jersey. The show runs until November 6.
