Want to see what will happen to housing availability and costs? Look at San Francisco and the Bay Area— completely unaffordable for low-wage workers and people on fixed incomes. Look at the Austin area with Dell, Apple and other tech companies— rents and housing prices higher.

There is no conscionable reason to give billions of dollars of public money to a corporation with a market cap that reached $1 trillion at the end of the summer. Amazon's labor practices are garbage. We don't trust them. We don't want them.

@WNYC @JimmyVanBramer @BrianLehrer Let's be clear, the $2.5 billion doesn't exist yet! The tax revenue to be collected is $13.5 billion and that amount is not be given, but rather would not be collected. Please understand how subsidies work.
