American Fugitives in Cuba

The Brian Lehrer Show | Oct 9, 2015

Mike Kelly, columnist for the Bergen Record, talks about notorious American fugitives now living in Cuba under political asylum for their revolutionary activities in the U.S. during the 1970s.

While Kelly was in Cuba in September, he also went looking for an update on an old New Jersey story: the whereabouts of Joanne Chesimard (also known as Assata Shakur), the only woman on the FBI's most-wanted list who escaped a New Jersey prison where she was serving a life sentence for killing a state trooper in 1973.
