Amos Oz's 'Judas' Examines Betrayal in 1950s Jerusalem

Amos Oz discusses his new novel Judas, his first full-length work since A Tale of Love and Darkness. Set in Jerusalem in 1959, Judas tells the story of Shmuel Ash, a young scholar who is devastated when his fiancee leaves him and his parents stop giving him financial support. He finds work as a caregiver to an old man and falls for a beautiful, mysterious older woman who lives with them.

Event: Amos Oz be speaking about his new novel at Columbia's Institute for Israel and Jewish Studies in the Pulitzer Hall World Room (116th Street & Broadway) on Tuesday, November 15th at 8 p.m.
