Anaïs Mitchell will forever be known as the songwriter who created the massive Broadway hit Hadestown. But she came from the New England folk scene, and has continually drawn on folk sources in her own music. In 2020 she became part of the trio called Bonny Light Horseman, a folk/rock supergroup that offered new arrangements of old songs, and new songs with old folk roots, like this one called “The Roving.” Bonny Light Horseman with Anaïs Mitchell, plays Wed. night, Feb. 16 at Tarrytown Music Hall. They play on Feb. 14 in NYC, at Webster Hall.
