She began as a folk-based singer, but Angel Olsen soon moved into a world of 50s- and 60s-inspired technicolor pop in recent years. Now, with a new album called All Mirrors, she seems to be moving yet again, this time into darker, more unsettled territory. This song, “Lark,” mourns the end of a relationship but also builds into a full-throated cry of emotional release. And the sound is less that of early girl group pop and closer to that of a big orchestra, although it’s actually only an 11-piece ensemble. Angel Olsen plays Thurs.-Sat., Nov. 21-23, at Brooklyn Steel.
