Federal Reserve Chairwoman Janet Yellen has spent the last two days on Capitol Hill assuring Congress that the economy is under control, saying that the Fed will not reverse course on interest rates.

But market indicators don't seem too convinced. Stock prices continued to fall on Thursday, reflecting persistent concerns about global economic weakness.
