NJ Gov. Murphy: We can cut seniors' taxes and save NJ Transit

Ask Governor Murphy | May 7, 2024

On "Ask Governor Murphy" Wednesday, New Jersey's top official said he's optimistic New Jersey can both fund a transformative tax relief program for seniors and put in place the corporate tax he hopes will sure up NJ Transit's billion-dollar budget hole.

That's despite a report from NJ.com late last month saying the two priorities were in tension — with competing priorities even threatening a government shutdown.

Murphy and legislative leaders must agree on a budget by June 30 to keep the government running.

Ask Governor Murphy airs the second Wednesday of most months at 7 p.m., dependent on schedule availability. Murphy returns to WNYC Wednesday, June 12.
