Journalist and author John Pomfret served as a correspondent for The Washington Post for two decades, covering wars, revolutions, and China. In his latest book, The Beautiful Country and the Middle Kingdom: America and China, 1776 to the Present, he details the history of the 200 year-old relationship between the United States and China, from the Revolutionary War to the present day. 

Event: John Pomfret will be in conversation with Elizabeth Economy and Orville Schell at Asia Society (725 Park Avenue), co-sponsored by the Council on Foreign Relations on Wednesday, Nov. 30 at 6:30 p.m.
