Jimi Hendrix fans will recognize this tune as “Little Wing.” But instead of being played on a distorted, bluesy electric guitar, this version comes from classical guitarist Ben Verdery. Verdery is a musician, a teacher, and one of those guys who just seems to know everyone – at least in the guitar world. So his benefit show includes an arrangement of an Eddie Vedder song, a tribute to the late English guitarist Julian Bream featuring former Police guitarist Andy Summers, and lots more surprises. Ben Verdery and Friends on Fri., Feb. 12, is free, although donations benefit World Central Kitchen, Americans for the Arts, and Volunteers of America.
