Best of Soundcheck 2022, Part 1
Listen to some bright spots from this off-again-on-again year of live performances from the Soundcheck Podcast. There’s a live performance by Punjab party band Red Baraat recorded at the New Sounds 40th Anniversary Show at Brooklyn Bowl; a moving piece by South London-based musician and wordsmith Kae Tempest; and an Afro-Futurist American singer, banjo player, and ethnomusicologist Jake Blount. Also, listen to Puerto Rican singer-songwriter iLe and her socially-conscious art-rock tinged with some psychedelia. There’s also music from Sardinian guitarist, composer, ethnomusicologist, and instrument builder Paolo Angeli.
