Body Cameras Come to Three NYC Precincts

The Brian Lehrer Show | Dec 5, 2014

An NYPD pilot program will have nine officers wear body cameras in each of three precincts. WNYC’s Stephen Nessen talks about the program set to launch today in the 120th Precinct on Staten Island, the 40th Precinct in the Bronx, and Police Service Area 2 covering East New York and Brownsville in Brooklyn.

Then, we hear from two police departments that already have the body cameras. Steve Berry, media relations detective for the Mesa Police Deparment, and Sergeant Scott Sikes of the Fort Worth Police Department , compare notes on how body camera programs are addressing police and community relations in their Arizona and Texas departments.
