Brandee Younger and Dezron Douglas via Live from Columbia (Live Stream)
Tues., Jan. 19 at 7PM EST. Free.

When the pandemic first hit, jazz bassist Dezron Douglas and the genre-hopping harpist Brandee Younger began doing live streamed sets from their New York apartment. They played "comfort music," which ranged from jazz standards to pop covers, and original tunes – including a lighthearted number called "Toilet Paper Romance." There was also a song dedicated to the memory of Ahmaud Arbery, who was murdered in February of 2020, and it’s a kind of musical plea for wisdom. It’s their version of John Coltrane’s “Wise One.” Brandee Younger and Dezron Douglas play a live-streamed set on Tuesday evening, Jan. 19, as part of the Live From Columbia series.
