Bronx River Parkway Opening Ceremonies

Vincent Impellitteri, James Lyons, Thomas E. Dewey, and Robert Moses open the Bronx River Parkway, the first of three major New York City expressways opening that day throughout New York. Moses stresses the increased difficulties in building such expressways, while Governor Dewey notes the importance of the new expressways for civil defense and safety.
