Despite being nominated for Latin Grammy Awards, and named as one of the world’s “50 Great Voices” (NPR), Buika, a Spanish singer born to Central African immigrant parents, hasn’t been that well known here in the United States. That may now be changing. For one thing, she’s all over the new Santana album, Africa Speaks. For another, she’s once again performing here in the United States, showcasing her remarkably expressive, flamenco-tinged vocals. Buika plays Saturday night, June 29, at Caramoor, in Katonah NY.
