Chaos, Riot Gear, and Arrests at Washington Square Park

After some neighbors have complained that the scene at Washington Square Park is out of control, police enforced a 10pm curfew Saturday night with riot gear and arrests. At least 23 people were arrested Saturday night after officers enforced the new 10 p.m. curfew in Washington Square Park. Jake Offenhartz, Gothamist/WNYC reporter, talks about what's happening in the Village, the police response, and how it relates to citywide issues of quality of life, crime and policing.
